How great was the moon tonight last night? (I had uploading dramas last night, so this post has been a bit delayed)

I'm feeling rather flu-ey and it's a cold winter's night here in Melbourne, but when I saw the large orange moon low in the sky on my way home I just had to do a quick change, grab my camera and head down to the beach and grab some shots. Unfortunately I had a short black and stuffed around for about 20 minutes so by the time I got there the moon was much higher in the sky.

I still think I got some good shots though and aside from the text on the above picture, these are all unedited - just resized for uploading.

I met a few other people out taking some shots and they let me take a look at what they'd taken and comparatively I'm pretty happy with my snaps, although practice and a tripod should help with future efforts - so many blurred reject due to hand held wobbles although I like this forced blurred effect (my auto focus setting hated it!) :
